Rob trained as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Germany and the UK, working in general adult community psychiatry and community forensic mental health.
During his psychotherapy training, he encountered the practice of mindfulness and subsequently immersed himself in meditation and Buddhist psychology.
From 2008 to 2017 Rob lived and practiced as a resident in the Plum Village community in the Southwest of France.
Between 2018 and 2021 he worked as a physician specialist for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
Rob has trained in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and self-compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Grof®Breathwork and holds a Certificate in Psychedelic Therapy
and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Rob believes in the transformational power of mindfulness and human connection to restore balance in the individual and collective psyche. He would like to contribute to a shift in mental health
towards focusing on uncovering the traumatic origins of psychiatric symptoms and finding ways of healing through restoring connection.
He focuses his work on the interface of Eastern contemplative practice, NVC, and transpersonal psychotherapy.
