About Amruta Garud

Classical Indian musician and vocalist, Amruta is the Founder and driving force behind Ayan Cymru and Inner-Connect, working to build a more connected and healthier Wales through arts, culture, and wellbeing. With over 15 years of experience as an Indian Classical vocalist and cultural leader, she has been instrumental in creating cross-cultural programmes that bring communities together and promote inclusion.

Amruta Garud is an Indian classical vocalist, educator, participatory arts leader and creative producer based in Cardiff.

She is the founder and creative director of Ayan Cymru and Inner-Connect.

Amruta has spent more than 15 years promoting intercultural understanding, wellbeing and creative collaboration through music across Wales.

Amruta’s work blends Indian classical traditions with Welsh and contemporary musical influences, creating participatory projects in schools, healthcare settings, community spaces and arts venues. Through Inner-Connect, Amruta explores music, breathwork and embodied practices for healing and wellbeing.

Her work blends artistic excellence with wellbeing, reflected in her founding of Inner-Connect – an initiative delivering immersive sessions combining music, breathwork, and participatory practices.

Amruta holds advanced qualifications in Indian Classical Music and has contributed to both performance and education in India and the UK. She is an independent examiner and tutor, and a pioneer in introducing graded Indian music qualifications in Wales.

Through her leadership, Amruta continues to guide Ayan Cymru in building a more connected and healthier Wales through arts, culture, and wellbeing – bringing people together through cross-cultural programmes and creative experiences.
