Charmaine works as the Operational Lead for the Service User Service (SUN) which is a need adapted Peer Supported Open Dialogue non residential therapeutic community service in City & Hackney where she is also an in-house Open Dialogue Trainer for East London NHS Foundation Trust.

Charmaine is the founder of Peer Dialogue and works as the professional Lead for Peer Support in West London NHS Trust in the UK.

Outside of these roles, Charmaine is one of the Trainers on the Peer-supported Open Dialogue (POD) Training. and has also heavily involved in helping to develop and integrate the ‘P’ within POD.

“We all have experience (of some sort) of mental health distress, and therefore we are all capable of connecting with the people that we support in some way. I believe the peer element of Open Dialogue helps to allow openness and lessen pathologising.”
