Charlotte Waite is a social worker who has worked in the social care and supported housing sectors for several years, initially as a practitioner before moving to senior and strategic roles. Charlotte’s current role is as Director of Transformation and Systems Change for Platfform – Wales’ leading mental health and social change charity.
Charlotte worked in Children’s Services, substance misuse and homelessness, later going on to the University of South Wales as Programme Leader of Social Work. In 2014 Charlotte joined Solas Cymru as Director of Children and Family Services and developed trauma-informed supported accommodation and move-on for homeless young people and family intervention to prevent homelessness.
More recently I have spent two years on secondment at the Wales Adverse Childhood Experience Hub, leading on Psychologically Informed Environments and awakening to the pressing need for system change.
Charlotte is also a mum of two, a Welsh speaker and she loves baking. A dancer at heart, Charlotte finds moving her body help keeps her mind fit too.
